NEWPORT NEWS, VA – L. Greg Lane, 55, died at home on Thursday, August 2, 2012.

He traveled all over the world in the military and resided in Newport News the past ten years.  He was an Air Force Academy graduate and retired as a Major in the U. S. Air Force after 15 years as a pilot.  Most recently he worked with Lockheed Martin at Langley AFB.  He was a Baptist.

Greg is survived by his parents, Amy and Raleigh Lane of Newport News, VA; a sister, Amy Diane Kennedy and husband, Francis, of Poquoson, VA; a brother, Jeffery L. Lane of Newport News, VA; and numerous relatives in Rich Square, NC.

A graveside service was held at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Rich Square, by Pastor J. N. Baggett, with Air Force Honors.
