EURE — Charles “Randy” Randal Cowart, 51, of Eure passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at his home.

Randy was born in Savannah, GA on August 30, 1960. He was preceded in death by his parents: his father, Chester B. Cowart Sr. and mother and stepfather, Frances Joanne and Henry Alfred Edwards of Virginia Beach, VA; his sister Wanda G. Bolton of Gatesville; and his brother Chester B. Cowart, Jr. of Gatesville and Joseph Vander Cowart.

Randy was a loving husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend to many.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Rene Cowart, 50, of Eure; his daughter, Ashley Smitheman, 27, and husband David of Gatesville; son, Eric Cowart, 21, of Eure; and two brothers Henry “Hank” Edwards and wife Stacye of Virginia Beach, VA, and Kevin Edwards and wife Paula of Chesapeake, VA. He is also survived by dozens of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services for Mr. Cowart were held Saturday, July 14 at the Sunbury VFW.

Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home of Gatesville was in charge of the arrangements.
