Ruth White Lambeth

MURFREESBORO – Ruth White Lambeth departed this life to enter her Heavenly Home when Jesus called July 8, 2012. She was 88 years old and was surrounded by her family.

She had been preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, John D. Lambeth, Jr.; son, Johnny Allen Lambeth, Jr.; and parents, and Daisy White and Roger White. She was the last of the White family children of HertfordCounty.

Ruth worked as a cashier at the Colonial Store in Portsmouth,Virginia for over 20 years then moved to Arlington,Virginia where she worked at A&P Grocery Store six more years. She then retired and moved to Murfreesboro in Hertford County. She enjoyed gardening and canning and loved exercising as she was very health oriented.  She loved spending time with her family, especially, her great granddaughter, Cassidy.  They loved to have Tea Parties and she would make her laugh and smile. She often referred to her as  “Grandma in the Country”.

She is survived by a daughter, Joyce L. Allison and son-in-law, Curtis R. Allison;  granddaughters, Amy A. Parrish and husband John W. Parrish, Tammy L. Denmark and husband, Michael V. Denmark, and Teresa L. Davis and husband, James K, Davis; and a great granddaughter, Cassidy Nicole Parrish, all of Portsmouth, VA.

The family received friends in the Meherrin Baptist Church Social Hall on July 11, 2012 and her Funeral Service followed in the Sanctuary with the Rev. Josh Parsons officiating.

The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to all the nurses and doctors for their care and dedication.
