AHOSKIE – The final stage of the Academy Street (US 13) repaving project is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 25.

According to North Carolina DOT officials, Rose Brothers plans to close Academy Street from Memorial Drive to just south of NC 561 (First Street) on the morning of June 25 in order to perform the final phase of paving. That stretch of road is scheduled to reopen Tuesday afternoon (June 26).

The remainder of the paving project from First Street to Bojangles will begin on Wednesday, June 27. Traffic will be maintained along this section while the final paving takes place, which is scheduled to be completed by late Thursday afternoon.

The final phase of the project includes the pavement markings as well as paving the intersections of the streets that connect with Academy.
