WOODLAND — A man is behind bars with no bond after he allegedly kidnapped and physically assaulted his pregnant girlfriend.
Nickelous Dantonio Davis, 30, of Arrowhead Mobile Home Park, Lot#12 Indian Trail, Woodland, was taken into custody last Thursday by the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office. He stands charged with second degree kidnapping and assault on a female.
According to Northampton County Sheriff’s Chief Detective Capt. D.M. Harmon, the charges stem from a call received by Sgt. Jason Boone last Wednesday at 2 a.m. in reference to a 22 year old female victim that had been assaulted and was at Halifax Regional Hospital complaining of injuries to her stomach.
“Sgt. Boone discovered that victim was at her boyfriend’s (Davis) home when he attacked her by hitting her in the face and pushing her to the floor and held her on the floor and wouldn’t allow her to move,” Harmon said. “She stated he was intoxicated and he took her cell phone and forced her into the bedroom to prevent her from leaving or calling for help.”
According to Boone’s report, the victim stated that she was held in the bedroom for over an hour.
“Davis later allowed her to come out of the room to use the bathroom and she was able to escape and call for help,” Harmon said. “The victim stated that she is five months pregnant with defendant’s child.”
Davis was placed in the Northampton County Jail under no bond. His first court appearance was scheduled for Monday.
