WINTON – Madgie Simmons, 91, of Winton passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie.

She was a native of Hertford County.

She is survived by one son, Harvey Simmons of Moreno Valley, CA; two daughters, Ethel Vaughan of Hampton, VA and Barbara Hall of Winton; 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Phillipi Baptist Church in Cofield with the Rev. Cynthia Vaughan officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Services of comfort are entrusted to Hertford County Undertakers in Winton.
