MURFREESBORO — Murfreesboro Town Administrator Brandon Holland will be sticking around for at least three more years.

Last week following a closed session the Murfreesboro Town Council voted to approve Holland’s contract for three more years.

“I think it’s great we’re keeping him in the county,” said Mayor John Hinton.

Holland’s first came on board with the town on May 31 after working as an assistant manager for the city of Randleman. His initial contract with Murfreesboro expired this month.

Holland said he is looking forward to continuing his work in the town of Murfreesboro.

“I’m actually humbled,” he said about the council decision. “I’m 25 and I’m a town administrator. It’s such a huge blessing.”

For the past few months, along with grasping the tasks of the role, Holland said he has learned being a town administrator goes farther than 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to becoming a part of the community.

Holland said he along with his family have adjusted well to the small town and surrounding community.

“We’re very happy living here, we’re very happy with our neighbors, the school system, our church,” he said. “I’m happy we’re living in a nice place.”
