AULANDER – Annie Romito Mayhood, age 93, of Aulander passed away November 4, 2011 at Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA.

Anne was born March 31, 1918 in Minnesota, the daughter of the late Stephen Romito and Armalinda Ficera Romito.

Survivors include her daughter, Marlinda Akkerman and her husband, Klaas, of Aulander; her four sons, Corky Mayhood of Bonita Springs, FL, Steve Mayhood of Orange Springs, FL, Brian Mayhood of Norfolk, VA and Keith Mayhood of Brainard, MN; 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Anne Mayhood will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2011 in the chapel of Massey Funeral home in Aulander with the Rev. Joe Lassiter officiating.

The family will receive friends at other times at the home, 106 Pine Drive, Aulander.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Open Arms Church in Ahoskie.
