Timothy Wayne Mitchell

EURE – Timothy Wayne Mitchell, 60, of 15 Depot Road, Eure, died Sunday, October 16, 2011 in Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

Mr. Mitchell was born in Hertford County and was the son of the late Horace Pruden and Harriett Eure Mitchell.  A retired millwright from Georgia-Pacific in Ahoskie, he was a member of Sunbeam Baptist Church in Franklin, VA.  More recently he had attended Eure Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Horace, John and Patrick Mitchell; and a half-brother, John Wilkerson.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 25 years, Polly Eure Mitchell; three sons, Timothy Clay Mitchell and fiancée, Lisa Moore, of Gates, James Eric Mitchell of Eure and Marcus Brian Mitchell of Franklin, VA; two sisters, Nancy Godwin of Ahoskie and Carolyn Parker of Eure; and one granddaughter, Katrina Sample.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in the Eure Christian Church Cemetery by Dr. Wayne Proctor and the Rev. Michael Brinkley.  Friends may join the family Monday, October 17, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and all other times at the home of Ricky and Paige Hedgepeth, 524 Taylor Mill Road, Eure.

Memorial contributions may be made to Eure Baptist Church, PO Box 70, or to the Cemetery Fund of Eure Christian Church, 872 Taylor Mill Road, both in Eure, NC 27935.
