On Saturday, April 23, the Parade line-up starts at 9 a.m. at the corner of Granville Street and Sterlingworth Street. The parade starts at 10 a.m. on Granville Street, turn left on King Street, left on St. Elmo Street and ends.
Immediately following the parade, the public is invited to the Livermon Park at 103 N. York Avenue in Windsor and enjoy an afternoon and evening of socializing, vendors, food and fun at the Music Festival. Live entertainment by Mystique Band and Zikiya Rogers of Durham. Others will be showcasing their talent via singing or dancing.
As a part of the BACA Scholarship & Community Outreach Program mission and theme for this year’s parade, “Unity in the Community”, the group decided to include a “Relief Disaster Drop-off Area” for the tornado victims on Saturday at the Livermon Park. BACA volunteers will be on site to accept items for the victims in the Colerain and Askewville areas. BACA ask attendees to bring a non-perishable food item, new household items like towels, sheets, dishes, pots, etc. or any necessitous items need for families to restart their lives and new clothes of underwear, socks, t-shirts in all sizes. A truck to collect those items will be on site from 12 noon until 4 p.m.
BACA invites the public to come out and celebrate Easter weekend festivities. Those attending the events are encouraged to bring their families along with lawn chairs and blankets enjoy this parade, music fest, social, food and vendors.
