AHOSKIE – Are you ready to show Old Man Winter the exit door and welcome in Spring?
To help with the long-awaited transition between seasons, secure a copy of “Front Porch Living”, kick your feet back, grab a cup of your favorite beverage and indulge yourself into the lifestyles of the local area.
Roanoke-Chowan Publications, LLC is proud to announce the March 1 release of its newest product – “Front Porch Living.” The magazine takes its name from the easy lifestyle of our local four-county area. It is solely the work of the same people that bring you the Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald, Gates County Index, r-cnews.com and The Portal, a daily e-mail.
This marks the second “Front Porch Living” magazine; the inaugural edition was released in late November of last year.
Featured in the Spring edition are stories on a local man that earned national acclaim for his knitting skills; a two-part story on the upcoming Relay for Life events in Bertie and Hertford-Gates; the competitive nature of the simple game of horseshoes; a look at one of the local area’s most intriguing mysteries – the “light” at Earley’s Station; and the “My Town” feature, one that explores Roxobel.
Additionally, the latest “Front Porch Living” features recipes from Mama’s Kitchen, Teen Tweet, a popular column for young people (this one dealing with texting) and The Great Outdoors, which contains gardening tips for the Spring months.
New to “Front Porch Living” are photo essays entitled “View from the Front Porch.” Check out the pages in this edition to see if your local event was part of this new photo feature.
Copies of “Front Porch Living” will be distributed at 105 locations throughout the four-county area….places where people gather on a routine basis; medical facilities, restaurants, businesses, hair salons, etc.
If you miss seeing a copy, call 252-332-2123. Subscriptions are available for only $20 per year (four issues).
