Bertie alumi award scholarships

WINDSOR – The Bertie High School Alumni Scholarship Committee, spearedheaded by BHS Alumni Class of 1981, sincerely thanks all Bertie Alumni classes of 1969 through 2009, businesses and personal sponsorships, for their generous contributions during our 2010 Annual Alumni Scholarship Fundraiser.

They also thank the volunteers for their services and everyone that had a role in the 2010 Bertie Alumni Scholarship Fund-raiser.

The Scholarship Fundraiser Parade, Social, Music Festival , Alumni Basketball and Cheerleader events were a tremendous success.

Because of the supporters generosity a total $9,500 went to nine deserving students for Educational Scholarships in amount of $9,000 at this year’s Bertie High School Awards Ceremony on June 9, 2010.

In addition, two Athletics Scholarships for $500 was awarded to male and female students for Summer Basketball Camp.

The nine educational scholarships were awarded to Jasmine Barnes, Ya’Shonti Bridgers, Brittany Cherry, Quanesha Cooper, Alice Ervin, Tiffany Leary, Torrence Mourning and Lamar Watford.

The “In Memory of Barry Horton” Scholarship was awarded to RaShawnda Murphy.

The athletic basketball scholarships went to Justine Fells and Dre’Shawn Morris.

The Bertie Alumni Scholarship Committee looks forward to the continued financial support of the citizens of Bertie County, and our Alumni located around the world.

We are gratified that we can stand together to make a significant difference in the lives of future Bertie High School graduates by helping to finance their dreams of going to college.
