MURFREESBORO — A woman wanted for prescription drug fraud is now behind bars.

According to Murfreesboro Police Chief Darrell Rowe, the Gates County Sheriff’s Office arrested Sharon Lee Misovec, 49, in Corapeake last Thursday.

Rowe said Gates County Sheriff’s Sgt. Randy Hathaway arrested Misovec and she was turned over to Murfreesboro Police Lt. Joe Burgess.

On June 10, Misovec allegedly attempted to obtain oxycodone and dilaudid, controlled substances, with a fake prescription at CVS Pharmacy on Main Street in Murfreesboro.

Pharmacy staff alerted the police department about the subscription and provided a description of the suspect, a white female. When officers arrived the suspect had left and did not returned for the pills.

Lt. Burgess conducted an investigation and identified Misovec as the suspect.

Misovec’s information was entered into the National Crime Information Center’s system and warrants were drawn for her arrest.

Misovec was charged with two counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forgery, one count of attempted controlled substance by fraud or forgery and trafficking in an opiate.

Burgess transported Misovec to the Hertford County Jail where she was placed on a $600,000 secured bond.

“I like to thank Gates County Sheriff Ed Webb and his staff, particularly Sgt. Hathaway, for their assistance and Lt. Burgess for his quick work on this case,” said Rowe.
