ARD play roles on

AHOSKIE – Recreation play continues in the Ahoskie Recreation Department’s Youth Leagues.

Some recent scores include:

Movie Time – 12, H&R Block – 3

Movie Time scored in every inning as they knocked off H&R Block 12-3 in a Junior Softball game May 24.

BJDC – 10, WOW – 5

Baker, Jones, Daly and Carter defeated Woodmen of the World 10-5 in a Midget League game May 24.

Bradley Edwards pitched four innings for the win, striking out seven. He also had a solid night at the plate with two singles and two RBIs.

Caleb Peterson had a triple and two RBIs while Ryan Blowe, Trace Robertson and Dylan Howell each had singles.

Ellen’s Hair Affair – 8, AGI – 7

Ellen’s Hair Affair scored four runs in the first and four more in the third to defeat AGI Builders 8-7 in a Junior Softball game.

Ahoskie Body Shop – 17, Schueck Steel – 1

Ahoskie Body Shop scored five runs in the first and third and seven in the second to defeat Schueck Steel 17-1 in a Junior Softball Game May 24.

Haley Rivera was the winning pitcher, tossing all three innings and striking out four. She was also 2-for-3 with a triple at the plate.

Taylor Casteloew was 2-for-3 for Ahoskie Body and Courtney Malone was 1-for-1.

Brittany Evans led Schueck Steel by going 2-for-2 while Megan White checked in at 1-for-1.

Godwin’s Country Meats – 11, Lions – 1

Godwin’s Country Meats rolled to an 11-1 win over Lions in a Little League game May 25.

Lansden Malone was the winning pitcher, going five innings and striking out six.

Tommy Cowan had three RBIs and a homerun while Tyler Pope had a double for Godwin’s.

Golden Skillet – 5, Freeman Realty – 1

Golden Skillet scored four times in the first inning and defeated Freeman Realty 5-1 in a Junior League game May 25.

Tyler Hoggard was the winning pitcher striking out 11 in seven innings. He was also 1-for-3 at the plate.

Brandon Terry and Cody Cobb led Golden Skillet with 2-for-3 nights. Terry had a double and Cobb had a two-bagger and a triple.

Bryan Merritt checked in at 1-for-3.

“I’m really proud o four guys as they hit well tonight,” Golden Skillet Coach Benji Hoggard said. “Tyler and Ackerman both pitched well.”

Ackerman Grace and Devan Ivey led Freeman Realty with 1-for-3 performances.
