WINDSOR – Bertie County law enforcement officers are looking for two men charged with trafficking in cocaine.

Friday afternoon, Bertie County Sheriff John Holley announced the search for Keith Andre Speller, 27, and Derek Levi Greene, 28, both of Woodard Road in Windsor.

Both men are sought on identical charges including trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to Bertie County Sheriff’s Office Detective Sgt. Kenny Gilliam, numerous complaints came in about Speller allegedly selling cocaine in the Windsor area. The Bertie County Narcotics Unit conducted surveillance in the neighborhood and eventually received a search warrant for the home occupied by Speller and Greene.

“We went to serve the warrant and no one was home, but we surveyed it anyway,” Det. Gilliam said. “Once inside, we found cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a stolen motorcycle.”

The motorcycle was a 2007 Suzuki GSXR 1000 that was reported stolen in Georgia. It was found inside the residence.

Also located were 2.5 ounces of cocaine, 23 ounces of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, including scales.

“If anyone has information that would lead us to their whereabouts, we ask them to call the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office,” Det. Gilliam said.

The Bertie County Sheriff’s Office can be reached at 794-5330.

“Something I’m very hard on is drugs,” Sheriff Holley said. “We’re working diligently to rid the streets of Bertie County of drugs and this is another of our efforts.

“I appreciate the work done by our department and the assistance of the Windsor Police Department,” he added.
