Virgil Wayne Hoggard, 56, of West St. Elmo Street, Windsor, died Wednesday April 7, 2010 at Norfolk General Hospital.
Born in Windsor, he was a correctional officer with the state of North Carolina and a member of Cashie Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Jinny H. Davis of Hampton, Va., Judi H. Muir of Roper and Vicki H. Leggett of Windsor.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday April 10, 2010 at Walker Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Harmon officiating.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday April 9, 2010 at Walker Funeral Home and at other times from the home of Vicki Leggett, 315 George Leggett Road, Windsor.
