Bertie High School took a 17-0 Northeastern Coastal Conference win earlier this week against First Flight High School.

The Lady Falcons got three strong innings on the mound from sophomore Caroline White as she pitched the shutout.

“Caroline has struggled with injuries this year, but you would never know it when she is on the field,” said Falcons’ mentor Jackie Copeland.

The coach said she was pleased with the hard work of her infielders – Jody Mizelle, White, Sandi Todd, Brook Bowen, Haley Williams and Whitney Castelloe – and also complimented the work of the outfielders – Terri Lynn Smith, Andrea Dunlow, Kelsey White, Tori Dunlow, Whitney Harden, Sierra Jernigan, Carmen Villamor, Brandice Cullipher and Lindsey Faella.

“If we keep working together as a team, we’re going to get better as a whole,” Copeland said.
