Audrey Daphine Brown Whitaker, 77, of Ahoskie died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie.
Born in Whitesville, she was a certified nurse’s aide by the Department of Commonwealth of Virginia. She was also a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Newport News, Va.
Survivors include four sons, Calvin Whitaker of Newport News, Va., Alvester Whitaker of Petersburg, Va., Nelson Whitaker of Fresno, Calif. and Terry Whitaker of Ahoskie; a daughter, Evelyn LaVern Parker Whitaker of Fresno, Calif.; two sisters, Jewel Chisholm of South Pine and Ida Mae Brown of Raleigh; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 13 at Hunter’s Funeral Home Chapel.
