Lonzi Lee Short, 60, of US Hwy 13, Ahoskie, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at his residence.
Born in Richmond, Ga., he resided in Bertie County and was a retired laundry room worker at Lawrence Hospital in New York.
He was a member of Piney Wood Chapel Baptist Church – Ahoskie.
Survivors include his mother, Lena Williams Short of New York; his wife, Katherine Linden Short of Ahoskie; three sons, Lonzi Short Jr., Jordan Short and Justin Short, all of Ahoskie; two daughters, Roslyn Short of Atlanta, Ga. and Lena Short of Ahoskie; three brothers, Japus Short of Colerain, Henry Lee Short of New York and Iverson Short Jr. of Aulander; two sisters, Shirley Jones and Mary Ann Short, both of New York; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 6 at Piney Wood Chapel Baptist Church, Ahoskie with the Rev. Dr. Gregory Ellis officiating.
