James Aubrey Leicester, 88, of Sutton Road, Merry Hill, died Saturday, February 13, 2010 at his home.
Born in Bertie County, he was retired from the U.S. Navy and served during World War II.
Survivors include a sister, Bertha L. Barnacascel; and a brother, Melvin S. Leicester, both of Windsor.
A graveside funeral service was held on Monday, Feb. 15 at the Leicester Family Cemetery on Sutton Road with the Rev. J.N. Baggett officiating.
The family will be at the home of Barbara Bunch, 421 Sutton Road, Merry Hill.
