Charlie Burlon Bazemore, 82, of Windsor died Thursday, December 24, 2009.
Born in Windsor, he served in the United States Army for two years before relocating to Virginia. He was retired from Norfolk General Hospital. In 2003, he returned to Windsor.
Survivors include his wife, Marie of the home; two sons, Charlie Earl and Moses; a daughter, Alyee; 10 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Queen Watson, Roseva Gilliam and Marie Webb; and two brothers, Joseph and Roosevelt.
A funeral was held Thursday, Dec. 31 at Bazemore Temple Church of God in Christ, Windsor. Elder Maurice Davenport, Sr. officiated. Burial took place in the Bazemore Family Cemetery, Windsor.
Cherry Funeral Home, Windsor, handled the arrangements.
