Herbert Bruce Lane, 61, of Corapeake died Monday, December 14, 2009.
Born in Nansemond County, Suffolk, Va., he was a fork lift driver for Maersk Distribution and a member of Great Fork Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma W. Lane of Corapeake; a daughter Kimberly R. Taylor of Corapeake; a son, Joey D. Lane of Newport News, VA; two grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Mathias of Gatesville, Brenda Lane of Suffolk, VA and Debra Long of Alaska; and two brothers, William Lane of Waverly, VA and James Lane of England.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17 at Great Fork Baptist Church with Dr. Donald Ray Jones and the Rev. Steve Siegrist officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive at the residence of Brenda Lane.
