Samuel Lee Brown, 73, of Bethany Church Road, Colerain, died Monday, December 7, 2009 at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
Born in Hertford County, he was a retired truck driver with A. T. Byrum & Sons. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Lee Brown; a daughter, Christine B. Morgan of Tallulah, La.; a son, Phillip Brown of Roanoke-Rapids; brothers, Lindsay Brown of Lawrenceville, Va. and Wayne Brown of Ahoskie; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Colerain with the Rev. Tommy Tripp officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at Walker Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
