Thomas Rudolph Fennell, 63, of Arthur Majette Road, Aulander, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A native of Hertford County, he was retired from the Newport News Shipyard in Newport News, Va. He was a member of St. John Second Baptist Church, Aulander, and served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie Fennell of the home; a daughter, Melissa R. Fennell of Aulander; two sons, Reginald E. Fennell and Darrell L. Fennell, both of Aulander; three brothers, Willie V. Fennell of Ahoskie, John Russell Fennell of Aulander and James McCoy Fennell of Hampton, Va.; three sisters, Ethel Barnes of Hampton, Va., Queen Britt of Murfreesboro and Vera Lorraine Britt of Ahoskie; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at St. John Second Baptist Church, Aulander with Rev. Roy Sharpe officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
