Irma Harris

Mrs. Irma Lee Harrell Harris, age 86, died at the Heritage Hospital in Tarboro on Thursday, October 8, 2009.
Mrs. Harris was a native of Northampton County and grew up in the Roxobel/Kelford area. She was a member of the Scotland Neck United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Harris was married to Oscar in 1946 and they enjoyed sixty-three years of marriage. She worked at the Halifax Hosiery Mill in Scotland Neck for some thirty-four years until retiring in 1986. She was a devoted wife and she enjoyed gardening and working in yard.
Preceding her in death are her mother and father, Flora Parker Harrell and William Thomas Harrell, and her sister, Florence H. Hurdle.
Survivors include her husband, Oscar G. Harris of Scotland Neck, and her brother, Robert Harrell and his wife, Janice, of Jackson, NC. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews along with some very special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Braxton and family.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Baptist Cemetery in Scotland Neck with the Rev. Roger Cope officiating.
The family will receive friends at Sykes Funeral Service in Scotland Neck on Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m.
