WOODLAND — A quick response by the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office is being credited in the prompt arrest of a burglary suspect here.

Antwan Howard, 19, of Lot #40 Indian Trail in Woodland stands charged with second degree burglary, felony larceny and felony possession of stolen goods after he was arrested by NCSO Sgt. Jason Boone last Saturday.

According to Northampton County Sheriff’s Chief Detective Captain D.M. Harmon, Howard’s arrest stems from a 911 call received at approximately 2:28 a.m. on September 26 reporting a break-in in progress at Lot #65 in Arrowhead Mobile Home Park.

Harmon said Sgt. Boone along with Deputies Patrick Jacobs and Dwayne Carter responded to the call.

“After following the path where the suspect ran on foot they found items on the ground that were stolen from the home,” he said. “As deputies continued on this path, they found suspect, Howard, laying in the woods hiding with more stolen items in his possession. At that time he was taken into custody without incident.”

Howard was taken to the Northampton County Jail where he was given a $100,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was on Monday.

“As a result of these officers quickly responding to this call they were able to make a quick arrest,” said Harmon. “They did a good job”
