LASKER – Northeast Academy won their ninth volleyball match overall here last week.

The Lady Eagles used four sets to stop Albemarle School and improve to 9-3 for the season with a 2-3 mark inside the Tarheel Independent Conference.

In the third game, Albemarle finally scored a victory with a 25-22 final, but Northeast bounced back to close out the match with a 25-19 win in the fourth game.

Kelly Sykes was also stellar, recording seven kills during the afternoon along with two aces, two digs, two tips and a block. Lauren Edwards added three aces on the afternoon as well as a pair of kills, a tip and an assist.
