A myriad of golf tournaments are slated for the coming weeks throughout the Roanoke-Chowan area.

They include:

Make-A-Wish Foundation and Ryan Seals Memorial Scholarship Fund

Andy’s of Ahoskie will sponsor the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Ryan Seals Memorial Scholarship Fund golf tournament on Friday, October 9.

The event will be held at Tuscarora Greens in Winton.

Registration and lunch will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with tee time at 1 p.m.

The event will be a four-person, Super-ball tournament with a registration fee of $200 per team.

There will be prizes for closest to the pin and longest drive.

Hertford County Firefighters Association

The Hertford County Firefighters Association will host their annual golf tournament Friday, October 16 at Beechwood Country Club.

Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. and dinner will follow the tournament.

The entry fee is $200 per foursome and the field will be limited to 20 teams.

All proceeds go to the Hertford County Firefighters Association.

All entries must be in by October 10.

Hertford County 4-H Golf Tournament

The inaugural Hertford County 4-H Golf Tournament and Centennial Celebration will be held Friday, October 16 at Tuscarora Greens Golf and Country Club in Winton.

Lunch will be served at 12 noon with a 1 p.m. tee time.

The entry deadline for a four-person team is October 9. The fee is $220 per team which includes green fee, cart and one mulligan shot.

Hole sponsorships are available for $100 (gold sponsor) and $50 (silver sponsor).

Prizes will be awarded for first and second place as well as longest drive, closest to the pin and a putting contest.

Donations are also accepted.

Chowan University Homecoming Golf Classic

The Chowan University Homecoming Golf Classic will be held Friday, October 23 at Valley Pine Country Club in Lasker.

Registration is slated from 10:45 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. with lunch beginning at 11 a.m. Lunch will be hamburgers, hotdogs and all the trimmings.

A shotgun start will take place at 12 noon.

The entry fee is $200 per team for a four-person Super-ball tournament.

Hole sponsorships are available for $100 per hole.

Awards will be given for first, second and third place, longest drive male and female and closest to the pin male and female.
