EDENTON – Bertie High School suffered a straight-set loss here last week.

The Lady Falcons pushed Edenton in the first two games before succumbing 25-17, 25-16 and 25-12.

The Lady Falcons, however, got an excellent afternoon from Montreshia Perry who scored 14 points off her serve as well as providing 19 assists, seven kills and a block.

Ya’Shonti Bridgers also led the Lady Falcons as she had 18 assists to go with 11 kills and recorded three points off her serve. Tatyanna Holley added 13 assists and three kills while Dewanna Fennell had seven assists and two kills. Latoya Gilliam added nine assists, one block and a point off of her serve while Eboni Bond scored six assists and a kill.

Chaquasja Veale recorded 14 assists during the afternoon as well as one kill and two points from her serve.

Rounding out the offense for the Lady Falcons was Jakeka Smallwood (five assists), Jessica Speller (three assists) and Tameakia Lee (two points off serve and one kill).
