ROCKY MOUNT – Ridgecroft School swept Faith Christian School 9-0 in varsity tennis here last week.

The Lady Rams won every match to improve to 2-1 for the season.

Those claiming victories included:

Number one Tayler Smith defeated Terersa Hall 6-3, 6-3;

Number two Caroline Bowman defeated Kristin Watson 6-0, 6-0;

Number three Taylor Futrell defeated Samantha Gurganus 6-2,6-2;

Number four Erin Riddick defeated Megan Catt 6-0, 6-1;

Number five Alex Riddick defeated Catherine Cheney 6-0, 6-1; and

Number six Katie Futrell defeated Madison Moore 6-3, 6-3.

In doubles action, Smith and Bowman combined for an 8-2 win over Gurganus and Carolyn Matthews in the battle of top seeds.

Taylor Futrell and Erin Riddick then teamed to defeat Catt and Katie Barnes 8-2 at number two. Katie Futrell and Roxie Daniels sewed up the victory with an 8-2 win over Kristin Watson and Ashley Knight.

The Lady Rams will be back in action Thursday, September 17 when they host Greenfield School at 3:30 p.m.
