Edna Goodwin Jethro, 96, of Old Hertford Road in Edenton died Sunday, September 6, 2009 at her residence.
A native of Chowan County, she was a homemaker and a member of Yeopim Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Elsie R. Toppin and Evelyn M. Dail, both of Edenton, and Ruby Copeland of Hertford; four sons, Murray E. Jethro of Ahoskie, Delvin E. Jethro and Phillip V. Jethro, both of Edenton and Melvin T. Jethro of Corapeake; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory in Edenton with Rev. Donald Sawyer officiating. Burial followed in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends joined the family on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the funeral home and other times at the residence.
