Fred W. Wood Jr. of Flea Hill Road died Saturday, September 5, 2009 at his residence.
A native of Hertford County, he was a member of Zion Grove Baptist Church, Aulander.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Scott Wood of the home; two sisters, Juanita Wood Spencer of Aulander and Marion Wood of New York, NY; two daughters, Tracy Scott Jones of Chesapeake, VA and Rhonda Scott Long of Richmond, VA; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at Zion Grove Baptist Church with Pastor James Mercer and the Rev. Elbert Lee officiating. Burial will be in the Wood Family Cemetery.
Reynolds Funeral Home, Ahoskie, is in charge of the arrangements.
