Ruth Futrell Chitty, 77, of Mapleton died Friday, August 28, at her residence.
A native of Northampton County, she worked at one time as a seamstress with the Rollick Company and, along with her husband, owned and operated Community Care Home for Adults in Aiken, SC.
She was a member of Meherrin Baptist Church in Murfreesboro.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Ann Warren of Hertford; two sons, Richard Daniel Chitty of Mapleton and Joel Keith Chitty of South Carolina; two sisters, Dorothy F. Roundtree and Ann F. Earley; two brothers, Charles Futrell and Tony Futrell; and three grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 31 in the Meherrin Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Josh Parsons officiating.
