AULANDER – League play continued last week for the Aulander Youth League.

Results included:

ViQuest – 9, W.E.B. Sand & Gravel – 4

ViQuest scored four runs in the first and added two more in the second to grab an early lead from which they never looked back.

The team went on to score a 9-4 win over W.E.B. Sand & Gravel Friday night.

ViQuest was led by Sierra Jernigan who was 3-for-3 with two runs while Brittney Davis was 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Theresa Steward was 1-for-2 for ViQuest while Lauren Coley was 1-for-3.

W.E.B. was paced by Desiree James who was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Ashley Burkett and Ashley House were each 1-for-2.

Jernigan led ViQuest on the mound, pitching five innings and striking out eight. Kaela White suffered the loss despite striking out nine over five innings.
