Jacob “JR” Ruffin, 77, of Murfreesboro died Wednesday, August 5, 2009 in Norfolk, VA.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Murfreesboro.
Ruffin served as a Town Councilman for Murfreesboro for nearly 30 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Dalphine Chambers of Norfolk, VA, Swan Ruffin of Washington, DC and Jacquelyne Ruffin of Roanoke Rapids; one brother, Samuel Ruffin of Como; one sister, Emma Ruffin of Murfreesboro; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 9 at First Baptist Church of Murfreesboro with the Rev. Robert Richardson officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Murfreesboro.
Reynolds Funeral Home, Ahoskie, is handling the arrangements.
