AYL continues play

AULANDER – Games are continuing in the summer Aulander Youth League.

Recent results include:

M.W.B. Repairs – 24, Ricky’s Corner Ship – 11

MW.B. Repairs scored 10 times in the fourth inning to secure a 24-11 win over Ricky’s Corner Shop.

Ricky Spence was the winning pitcher for M.W.B., tossing two innings. Nick Adams suffered the loss, pitching three innings and striking out two.

Chris Calderado led the offensive attack for M.W.B. with a 5-for-5 night that included four runs scores. Matt Judge was 2-for-2, but scored five times. Matt Calderado was 3-for-4 and also crossed the plate five times.

Ricky Spence rounded out the attack by going 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Jacob Damo led Ricky’s with a 2-for-2 night while Chad Johnson was 2-for-3. Chris Adams and Cody Matthews each checked in at 1-for-3.

Golden Peanut – 11, Terry’s Used Cars – 10

Golden Peanut rallied from a 10-9 deficit to defeat Terry’s Used Cars 11-10 in their final at-bat July 27.

Ashley Burkett was the winning pitcher for Golden Peanut, tossing six innings and striking out one. Taylor McKeel suffered the loss with one inning pitched and one out.

Golden Peanut was led by Chelsie Malone who was 2-for-3 with two runs scored while Haley Jones was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored. Lindsey Faella and Brittany Odom each were 1-for-3.

Ashley Clow was a perfect 2-for-2 for Terry’s while Brooke Stroud was 3-for-4 and Heaven Rushing checked in at 2-for-3.
