Malvin Wayne Hoggard, 71, died Monday, July 27, 2009 at his residence.
A native of Bertie County, he was a former employee of Lea Lumber Company and a farmer. He was a member of Ross Baptist Church and served in the National Guard.
Survivors include his daughters, Carol H. Mizelle of Merry Hill and Dale Best of Rich Square; two sisters, Gail Smith of Windsor and Pat Jernigan of Colerain; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29 at Ross Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Medlin and the Rev. Roger Kiker officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28 at Walker Funeral Home, Windsor, and at other times from the home at 1243 NC Hwy 45 North, Merry Hill.
