Aulander league continues

AULANDER – Play is moving along in the Aulander Youth League.

Recent results include:

ViQuest – 8, W.E.B. Sand & Gravel – 6

ViQuest scored four times in the first inning and held off a late rally by W.E.B. Sand & Gravel to claim an 8-6 win June 26.

ViQuest added one run in the second, two in the third and one in the fourth. W.E.B. responded with one in the second, three in the third and two in the fifth frame.

Sierra Jernigan was the winning pitcher for ViQuest, pitching five inning and striking out eight. Kaela White suffered the loss, but struck out nine.

ViQuest was led offensively by Theresa Stewart who was 1-for-2 with two runs scored while Desiree James led W.E.B. by going 3-for-3.

Burke Trucking – 18, Neo-Pods – 6

Burke Trucking broke open a close game with nine runs in the third inning to take an 18-6 win over the Neo-Pods June 26.

Jarrett Burden led Burke Trucking with a 3-for-3 day that included one run scored while Alden Cooke and Ivey Lassiter each went 2-for-2 and scored twice. Ethan Bristow was 2-for-3 with three runs scored.

Michael Harrington and Logan Faella led the Neo-Pods, each going 1-for-1, while Austin Burkett and Kiersytn Polson were 1-for-2.

ViQuest – 27, W.E.B. Sand & Gravel – 5

ViQuest scored six runs in the first and then added seven in the second, five in the third and nine in the fourth to claim a comfortable 27-5 win over W.E.B. Sand & Gravel June 30.

Lauren Coley was the winning pitcher for ViQuest, going four innings and striking out nine.

Sierra Jernigan and Misty Spence led ViQuest with 1-for-1 nights at the plate. Jernigan added five runs scored. Theresa Stewart was 1-for-3 and Lauren Coley was 1-for-4 but that hit was a grand slam homerun.

Desiree James paced W.E.B. with a 1-for-2 night.

Millennium Civic – 18, Neo-Pods – 5

The Millennium Civic Organization scored five or more runs in each of the first three innings and cruised to an 18-5 win over the Neo-Pods June 30.

Landon Bracy led Millennium with a 4-for-4 night at the plate while Dashaune Cherry and Tye Saxby were also perfect as each was 3-for-3. Oscar Jones checked in at 3-for-4 while Hannah Lassiter was 2-for-3.

The Neo-Pods were led by Andrew Scott and Michael Harrington as both went 1-for-1. Austin Burkett, Brandyn Poison and Logan Faella were each 1-for-2.
