GATESVILLE – A 15-year-old girl has returned safely to her Gates County home after being abducted Friday from Gates County High School.

Gates County Sheriff Ed Webb reported the arrest of Tina Michelle Raynor of Angier, NC on the charge of felony child abduction. Raynor was arrested in Harnett County where she was jailed.

Raynor is the child’s biological mother, but is under a court order which prohibits her from having any contact with her daughter.

The child’s father, Donald Ray Ennis Jr., resides in the Gates community. He is the custodial parent.

According to Sheriff Webb, Raynor came to Gates County High School on Friday.

“She informed the office staff she was there to give her daughter some lunch money,” Webb said.

Webb added that the mother reportedly met her daughter in a hallway at the school. Shortly thereafter, the two allegedly left the school property, leading GCHS School Resource Officer Robert Jordan to obtain an arrest warrant for Raynor.

“We immediately put out a statewide BOLO (Be On the Look Out) for the mother and daughter,” Webb said, adding that the alert included physical descriptions of both women as well as information concerning Raynor’s vehicle.

That vehicle was stopped mid-afternoon on Friday in Harnett County by a Harnett County Sheriff’s deputy. Raynor was taken into custody at that point while the child was placed in the care of the Harnett County Department of Social Services.

“The father was contacted by DSS and went to pick-up his daughter,” Webb said.

Sheriff Webb thanked all agencies involved in this case.
