Luther E. Hart, 68, of Corapeake died Friday, April 17, 2009 at Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk.
He was a native of Chowan County.
Survivors include two sons, Anthony Hart of Gates and Luther Hart Jr. of Sunbury; four daughters, Allie Hart and Maggie Hart, both of Gates, Ruth Baker of Colerain and Angela Harrison of Corapeake; two brothers, William Hart Jr. of Wake Forest and Herbert Hart of Maryland; 24 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A wake will be held on Thursday, April 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hertford County Undertakers Gates Chapel in Sunbury.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 24 at New Piney Grove Church. Rev. Larry Moore, Pastor, will be officiating. Burial will be in the Union Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Hertford County Undertakers, Winton, is handling the arrangements.
