AHOSKIE — Author L. Diane Wolfe, known as “Spunk on a Stick,” will be the featured speaker for the Administrative Professionals Day event co-sponsored by Ace Hardware of Ahoskie and by Joe Murray Realty Wednesday, April 22.

The event will be at Catherine’s Restaurant in Ahoskie.

Organizers stress the location is a change from the one originally announced.

Tickets to the event, which is aimed at recognizing and appreciating the administrative professionals who work in the Roanoke-Chowan area, are $10 each.

Lunch is included.

Tickets are available for purchase at Ace Hardware in Ahoskie, Joe Murray Realty, and The Ahoskie Chamber of Commerce.

The event will begin at noon and conclude at 2 p.m.

Door prizes will be awarded.

Wolfe’s topic will be “Overcoming Obstacles with Spunk.”

Wolfe conducts seminars on promoting, leadership and goal setting.

She spent 10 years with a motivation training system and says that, plus her experience as a foster parent, have given her the in-depth knowledge of relationships, personality traits and success principles upon which she has built her work.

She offers her seminars through community colleges, organizations and clubs, and travels the East Coast extensively for media interviews and speaking engagements, averaging more than 100 appearances a year.

As a member of the National Speakers’ Association, Wolfe is scheduled to join First Lady Michelle Obama next month at a speaking engagement.

She also maintains a dozen web sites and blogs, manages an online writer’s group and contributes articles for several other sites.

She also does characterization sessions for schools and speaks to writer’s groups.

Wolfe began writing as a teenager.

Her work includes “The Circle of Friends” and the soon-to-be-published “Overcoming Obstacles With SPUNK! The Keys to Leadership and Goal Setting,” which she characterizes as “an inspirational self-help book” in which she has tied all of her goal-setting and leadership seminar’s information together into one package.

The Administrative Professionals Day event was originally slated to be hosted by the Small Business Center at Roanoke Chowan Community College and to be held on the RCCC campus. For more information, call Joe Murray Realty, (252) 332-2867.
