It’s easy to have heard or seen something and not realize it.

Sometimes in our busy lives, we overlook a small thing at the time it happens, but the memory floods back later on when we see, hear or read something about the incident.

In several open investigations in our region, law enforcement agencies are asking for the help of those who may have seen or heard something. They want whatever detail may be available to solve those crimes.

They are seeking that information in nearly every story we publish in which there is an open criminal investigation.

Many times people who know things choose not to get involved. They don’t want to be part of whatever is going on. The problem is that if you have information and don’t share it, you are part of the problem. If you share that information, you can be part of the solution.

Our local sheriffs, police chiefs and those working under them want to solve the crimes in their jurisdiction. They want to get murderers, thieves and all others who commit crimes off our streets. They cannot do it alone.

Sometimes we take it for granted that the people who serve us in uniform know everything that we know. That isn’t always the case. Sometimes they need to hear about whatever little bit of information you have – whether it’s something seen, heard or known.

If you have information about a local crime, we implore you to share that information with those who are investigating it. Not only will they appreciate it, but they will use it to take criminals off the streets and make our neighborhoods safer.
