MURFREESBORO — A man was arrested here after a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs.

According to Murfreesboro Police Chief Darrell Rowe, on Monday, Kyle M. Glisson, 19, of Highway 11 in Murfreesboro was taken into custody after officers found marijuana in a bag allegedly belonging to the suspect.

Rowe said MPD Lt. Joe Burgess observed Glisson driving a vehicle and initiated a traffic stop with knowledge that the subject did not have a driver’s license.

While Lt. Burgess investigated the driving offense, other MPD officers received permission to search the vehicle from the owner who was in the car.

Rowe said upon searching the vehicle the officers found, inside a bag allegedly belonging to Glisson, eight small bags of marijuana, one large bag of marijuana, a scale typically used to weigh drugs and a marijuana smoking pipe.

Glisson was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana and no operator’s license.

He was placed in the Hertford County Jail under a $30,300 secured bond.
