James C. Gay, 63, of Pittman Road, Boykins, Va. died Thursday, January 15, 2009.
Gay was a native of Northampton County.
Survivors include two sons, Malcolm Gay of Newport News, VA and Derrick Gay of Murfreesboro; his father, Joseph Gay of Jackson; two brothers, Harry Gay of Richmond, VA and Chester Gay of Roanoke Rapids; three sisters, Dorothy Artis of Roanoke Rapids, Emma Rimm of Norfolk, VA and Thelma Lundy of Chesapeake, VA; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19 at Piney Grove Baptist Church, Jackson, with the Rev. Timothy Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A wake will be held from 6-7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18 at Faison’s Funeral Home, Seaboard, who is in charge of the arrangements.
