WOODLAND — A man has been arrested after he allegedly fired a gun several times in a mobile home park and striking a near-by home occupied by a family.

Last Friday, the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Rodolfo Leon Trujillo, 23, of Lot #90 in Arrowhead Mobile Home Park located near Woodland.

According to Northampton County Sheriff’s Chief Detective Captain D.M. Harmon, Trujillo was charged with discharging a weapon into occupied property.

Harmon said the charge stems from call placed to the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 9:54 p.m. in reference to shots being fired at Arrowhead Mobile Home Park.

NCSO Deputies Courtney Williams, Mitchell Deloatch and Jason Chandler responded to the scene and took Trujillo into custody after they observed the suspect allegedly trying to hide a gun under a mobile home.

Harmon said the scene was secured and turned over to him upon his arrival.

“Further investigation revealed that defendant shot several times in the park and one bullet struck the residence next door at Lot# 89,” said Harmon. “The bullet traveled inside the residence and was found on the kitchen floor. The residence was occupied by a husband and wife and their three children.”

Harmon said there were no injuries to the residents of Lot #89 only damage to the home.

The gun was recovered as well as the bullet for evidence.

Harmon said the investigation is ongoing.

Trujillo was placed in the Northampton County Detention Center on a $10,000 secured bond.

His first court appearance was Monday and his case was continued until December 29.
