SEABOARD — Two people were injured and another person was arrested here over the weekend after shots were fired during an altercation.

According to Chief Detective Captain D.M. Harmon, the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Levon Vincent, 24, of 1200 Jordan Mill Road in Margarettsville in connection to the shooting.

Vincent was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Harmon said the charges stem from a call received by the NCSO at approximately 2:48 a.m. on Saturday in reference to a shooting at the Boom Boom Room located at 153 Birch Lane.

“Upon officers’ arrival no one was at the scene,” said Harmon. “Shortly after we received calls from HRMC (Halifax Regional Medical Center) of two gunshot wound victims coming into the hospital and one of them was in critical condition.”

Harmon continued by saying after interviewing victims and witnesses, it was learned that there was a party at the location and a fight broke out. As a result several shots were fired and both victims were struck inside the building.

Further investigation led the NCSO to Vincent.

Vincent was place in the Northampton County Detention Center on a $50,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was on Monday and the case was continued until December 29.

“Both gunshot victims are doing a lot better at this time,” said Harmon. “This investigation is ongoing and it may lead to further arrests.”
