WOODLAND—The Woodland Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred here over the weekend.

Woodland Police Chief Don Ryan said the robbery took place on Saturday afternoon at the Woodland Olney Apartments located on East Main Street.

Ryan said a resident of the apartment building heard a knock on her door at approximately 2 p.m. She then heard someone refer to her by her first name and directed her to open up.

When the woman opened the door she saw two black males with red bandanas over their face.

The males made their way into the apartment.

Ryan said the victim told the men to sit on the couch.

“She was trying to prevent them from going into her bedroom,” he said.

The robbers then pushed their way pass the victim and went into the bedroom.

Ryan said the victim started to yell at the men, who then grabbed her pocketbook from a closet and fled.

Ryan said the pocketbook contained the victim’s identification and cash.

No weapons were used in the robbery.

Ryan said the investigation is continuing.

Ryan urges those who have any information pertaining to this robbery to contact the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office at 534-2611 or the Northampton County Crime Stoppers line at 534-1110. Information will be kept confidential.
