MURFREESBORO – Many children and youth alike are looking for a different type of recreation.

This year, the town of Murfreesboro is sponsoring a basketball recreation league for children and youth ages five to 13.

The cost of the league is $25 and will include clinics, practices, games and uniforms. Scholarships are available for families who register more than two children.

Registration is beginning immediately at the Town Hall on 105 East Broad Street.

The clinics, practices and games will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday November 1 at the Jenkins Center on 305 Lakeview Drive.

The program is made possible by the town of Murfreesboro and a grant received from University Health Systems Foundation and the Roanoke-Chowan Hospital Community Benefit Program.
