AHOSKIE – The Ahoskie Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for the 2008-2009 basketball league.

The signups will be held from October 1-31.

All players must be at least five years of age on or before December 31, 2008 and no more than 15 years old prior to March 31.

The cost of the uniform will be $10 and it will become the property of the player. Registration will remain $10 for in-town residents and $15 for out of town residents.

If there are spaces available after the October 31 deadline, a $5 late fee will be charged for anyone signing up at that time.

The program is scheduled to run in the evenings and on Saturday mornings in November.

The coaches’ meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 6 at the Ahoskie Recreation Center at 1103 West Main Street. The meeting is open to all those who are interested in coaching.

The basketball league will only be as successful as volunteers make it.
