AHOSKIE – Know who is going to win this weekend?

If you do, the Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald and local businesses have an opportunity for you to prove it.

Starting in today’s edition, The Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald Football Contest will run each week during the 2008 National Football League (NFL) season.

Each week, the contest will list matchups for the coming week in advertisements on the entry blank. Those who wish to participate find those matchups, select the winner and write it in the appropriate blank.

The person with the most correct predictions each week will win $50. In the event of a tie, one game will be pre-selected as a tiebreaker. Contestants will enter their choice of the combined score of the two teams in that game.

Contestants are required to submit an official entry either from the Tuesday edition of the Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald or an official entry that is available at the office at the corner of Main Street and Catherine Creek Road. No purchase is necessary. One entry will be provided per request. No photo copies of entry blanks will be accepted.

The contest is open to anyone 18 years of age or older. Roanoke-Chowan Publications LLC employees and their immediate families are ineligible.

Weekly entries can be dropped off at the Ahoskie office by 5 p.m. each Friday or mailed to: Football Contest, Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald, P.O. Box 1325, Ahoskie, NC 27910. Mailed entries must be postmarked on Friday.

All entries will be entered into the year-end Super Bowl prize package of $250. That drawing will be held one week prior to the Super Bowl.
